Living on the Edge

WCIF invites you to hear a new feature, The Edge with Chip Ingram weekdays at 6:53 am or 12:15 pm.   Chip Ingram is the President of Walk Thru the Bible.  He has a B.A. in Education from West Liberty State College, M.S. in Education from West Virginia University, and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary.  The combination of his education and 20 years as a senior pastor has provided him with a unique perspective on the role of the church in the new millennium and a passion to communicate God's Word in a clear,  relevant, and applicable manner. Chip's vision is to be a catalyst for changing how America thinks about God, how pastors think about preach-ing, how churches think about their communities, and how everyday believers live out their faith at work and at home.
Chip is also a best selling author.  He and his wife, Theresa, currently reside in Atlanta, GA.

Thanks for Your Encouarging Letters

Merritt Island - Thank you for sending out the Gospel so sweetly and powerfully.  The music is beautiful and so refreshing.  God's Word is so precious!  God has brought me through a real season of testing and although I have failed so badly He has been true and faithful to me and I give Him all the praise, honor and glory, for He alone is worthy.  Thank you and may God greatly bless you.  “Always be full of joy in the Lord!” Philippians 4:4 TLB

Dangerous Conditions and an 11,000 foot Mountain

WCIF Chief Engineer Jim Grossmann recently returned from a mission trip to Ecuador. The mission team went to the South American nation as part of the Oriental Mission Society's Men for Missions program based in Indianapolis. Oriental Mission Society was incorporated in 1910.  An expert in all areas of radio operations and maintenance, Jim used his skills to help construct and maintain missionary radio tower sites in Ecuador.

One of the radio station towers Jim worked on sits atop an 11,000-foot mountain peak. In very wet weather, the team had to scale the peak in order to conduct work at the tower site which is powered by a wind generator. Jim has helped install a microwave antenna and receiver, plus upgraded the radio station to stereo operation. The radio station ministers to indigenous Indian populations, who listen to the station using special fixed-tune radios.

With the help of HCJB the radio station airs popular programs from familiar names like Focus on the Family, Insight for Living and In Touch. While in Ecuador the team had opportunity to meet with HCJB's Ron Cline and his wife in Quito to talk about the work.  Jim said his greatest blessing was to know he was helping the people of Ecuador receive quality programming. “There's a real serious need in Ecuador to learn about Christ-ianity, to learn how to really live out and walk a Christian life,” said Jim. “The people of Ecuador are very needy, especially spiritually.”     The station  also plans to minister to the people through programming to help with safety, health, preventive medicine and training for mothers on raising Godly children.

Beyond The Call

Beyond the Call is a feature you hear on WCIF challenging you to become active, vital members of the body of Christ, encouraging you to go beyond the point of salvation and begin impacting the world around you.  The speaker is a man gifted in bring- ing alive the gospel of Jesus Christ, HCJB's World Radio's Chairman of the Board , Dr. Ronald A. Cline, challenges and edifies the body of Christ across the globe.
His background as a pastor, counselor and missions leader gives him credibility and rapport with the many gorups and individuals to which he and his wife Barbara, minister around the world each year.
Plagued by a speech impediment in his you, his life was transformed as a young man when an impromptu need brought him to the pulpit as a speaker.     He is an ordained minister and a licensed marriage, family and child counselor.
Ron Cline's service with HCJB World Radio began in 1976 as a short-term opportunity pastoring the English Fellowship Church in Quito, Ecuador, one of the HCJB World Radio international broadcasting sites.  From 1981 until 2001, he was President of the mission, which has more than 1,000 missionaries and staff members throughout the world.   Ron and his wife Barbara have three  adult children and when they're not traveling in leadership and ministry with HCJB World Radio they make their home in Quito, Ecuador.

Happy Birthday
