FROM THE MANAGER

You could feel the excitement and the enthusiasm build as SHARATHON wrapped
up on Wednesday March13th.  In that final hour everyone knew we were going
to make the goal even though we were still a ways from it.  The phones were
steadily ringing and people were in a mood to help meet the goal with
whatever God had impressed them to give.  It took everyone with all size
gifts to accomplish the task.  We made it and early at that!  It took us
some time to finally settle down after the phones stopped ringing.   Well
here we are, on the other side of SHARATHON and at the beginning of our
23rd year of community service.  The gifts and acknowledgment letters have
been sent and we have taken a closer look at the statistics.  We have also
praised God for His wonderful people.  We are partners with you and we like
it that way.

We are still adding in late pledges but we have made our goal of
$230,000!  This represents our minimum budget needs so if you would like to
help there is still a need.  We are grateful to those who took a minute and
answered our survey questions.  We found out what you like most, (Chuck
Swindoll, Dr. Dobson, Dr. MacArthur, Ravi Zacharias, music and
"everything"), and when you listen the most  (6am-10am).  We were
pleasantly surprised to hear from more people from outlying areas like
Orlando.  With the strength and consistency of the signal we may have a
larger potential audience to serve.
To all of those who took an interest in helping us move forward we thank
you.  You always impress me with your willingness to step up and
help.  When we need prayer or a hand with the extra work a faith ministry
has, you are there.  When we need encouragement God always uses His
"family" members to keep us at the task.  When we know we need to work
together to accomplish the huge tasks, you are there.  It is good to be
around generous and cooperative people.  We plan to serve you and your
friends in a consistent and loving manner this coming year.  Thank you for
the opportunity.  To God be the glory!

Dr. J Leland Hall Retires

Dr. J Leland Hall retires from producing Daily High Lights on WCIF after 22 years
Dr. Hall came to Melbourne in 1971 as pastor of First Baptist Church of
Melbourne.  He started producing Daily High Lights in  1972 to air on a
secular station and when WCIF began broadcasting in March 1980 it was
included in the program schedule.  Before he came to Melbourne he had a
program in Bolivar, Mo. on the local station.
Dr. Hall and wife Bette have 5 children,  20 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren.   His ministry has spanned many different areas of emphasis
and touched many lives, but no one can number the lives touched through his
ministry not only on Daily Highlights but because he had  a vision for
Christian Radio - WCIF FM.  Dr. Hall we thank you and honor you as
a  servant of God, and as we have heard you say many times, "To God Be the
Glory!"
