    FROM THE MANAGER
    Lee Martinez
Lee Martinez Our fiscal year is about to end. WCIF has been in existence since March 10, 1980. As we begin our 21st year of broadcasting it's good to know God is using us beyond what we had expected.

Our newest venture is to bring our Christian community together for a series of Christian concerts. We hope you'll be able to join us each quarter for a night out. We'll try to reach various age groups with music that is significant to them. This means there will be artists (like Wayne Watson) more suited to our general audience, as well as those who would appeal more to our Southern Gospel or contemporary listeners. Our goal is to provide a gathering with musicians who have a testimony rather than merely a talent. It's a time to get together and celebrate the goodness of our God.

This has been the year for outreach as many of you participated with us to provide affordable housing for a local family through Habitat for Humanity. Our listening family committed to provide the funding and a good portion of the early work on house #60. In personal terms we are helping provide Naida Spivey and her sons with a new home. Their house at 1789 Steele Street is getting the final touches with the drywall going up this week. After that there is painting, planting and sod work with a goal of finishing and turning over the keys at the end of February.

During our 2000 SHARATHON we committed to provide housing to one of the poorest areas in a very poor country, Riverton Jamaica. We were surprised to learn decent housing could be had for $2000 per unit. The religious broadcasters through the National Religious Broadcasters have committed to 2000 houses to help raise the standard of living and provide a healthier atmosphere for the people near the Riverton dump.

The activities of last year and the coming year are just some of the ways WCIF has been used to challenge you to good works. Good works that go beyond just listening but that have meaning to others as well. We have found means to let others benefit from the way God has blessed us. To share His goodness in practical ways. To raise friends for the Father.

As we prepare for a new year we ask you to please take a financial part in seeing that we are able to continue to minister and to take advantage of every challenge God puts in our path. Our challenge now is to raise the budget for the next twelve months in a campaign that will begin with a day of praise and prayer and two days of tallying pledges from God's people. We go on with your help!

    WAYNE WATSON CONCERT
    March 15, 2001

Wayne Watson concert set for March - In what will be the first of many concerts WCIF and First Baptist of Melbourne are co-sponsoring a concert featuring Wayne Watson March 15, right after SHARATHON. Now that we are in our new facilities we have enough seating to host a major concert. Our plans are to host at least four a year and draw from a variety of artists and musical tastes. Through the sale of tickets we want this to become a self-supporting part of our community outreach. Should you have any suggestions to help us find the right artists please be in touch.

You have opportunity to hear Wayne on WCIF. You could expect that since he has been in music ministry for 20 years, has 15 albums to his credit and won a number of Dove awards during that time. Wayne is a songwriter whose love for the Lord and his family becomes very evident. His music acknowledges God's wonderful gifts to him and his joy in being alive. He recognizes that writing something catchy isn't enough. Music must be full of truth so it doesn't "date" itself.

The dates for SHARATHON are Monday - Wednesday, March 12,13,and 14. The Thursday following will be our night with Wayne Watson. Tickets will be available mainly through the Christian bookstores across our listening area and at First Baptist Melbourne. To this point tickets will be available at :

    Letters

SATELLITE BEACH - I am a regular listener, listening from 6 am to 6 pm. My wife and really enjoyed the "Glad" concert last Friday night. We are hoping that you broadcast the Steve Green concert in March. Thanks again for your ministry in our area.

MELBOURNE - When my husband and I travel the country we always look for other Christian radio stations. We have listened to many along our route. However none are as good as WCIF. At the time I think, I must write and express our appreciation when we return, but then we get busy and it never gets done. Not this time! It is our privilege to support your station on a regular basis. You have blessed our lives tremendously.

INDIAN HARBOR BEACH - While I was recovering from a winter cold, my radio and WCIF were together. I'm very thankful for you people. You are truly a joy to have around. TV has nothing to compare with the music all of December.

MELBOURNE - Thanks for sharing the truth to me. All of you are a blessing.

WEST MELBOURNE - We just wanted to thank you for another year of radio that you have provided. We wanted to make good on our pledge that we made earlier in the year. Time just got away from us and we have not gotten it in. We both listen and enjoy your variety of programs daily and look forward to another great year!
