We are about to begin our twentieth year of broadcasting with some good news! We have now increased our power and moved to a new transmitter site. |
The site change was necessary in order that we be allowed to increase power. The power increase was something we have been seeking (through prayer) for nearly 15 years. Our mission is to reach as many people as possible with the Good News of the gospel in a consistent and sustained manner. We now have more range and more communities able to hear WCIF. Although Orlando isn't in our main pattern we have heard the signal is strong in some areas.
The increase gives us opportunity but also more financial responsibility. We are especially aware of this as we prepare for our annual SHARATHON. This year we will conduct our campaign on March 8,9,10. That makes it coincide with our anniversary date March 10th. SHARATHON will be unique this year in that the first day, Monday, will be set aside for a Day of Prayer and Praise to focus on what the Lord has accomplished.
We have yet to see what the extra power will mean to the area. We already know this comes at an increased cost. The lease on the new location is a step of faith. Added to that is the power bill for a larger transmitter. But just knowing there are more people out there who will be comforted, encouraged and uplifted by the programming makes us certain this is the direction we should go. Eventually our added audience will help pick up the costs. But now we are asking those who know what WCIF stands for to stand with us and make us financially able to sustain this coming year.
As we approach the new millennium with the doubts and concerns being expressed, remember God has told us no matter what, He is there to bring us through. There are many whose anxious feelings can be put to rest by knowing the God of the past, present and future. Help us give them the opportunity of introducing Him and expressing His Word in a way they can understand. Help us accept the challenge of our twentieth year which will take us into the twenty-first century. Make WCIF part of your giving to the Lord.

PALM BAY - I'm writing to comment on your broadcasting and especially, to thank you for the music you play each day. What a blessing ! We moved to P.B. from Co. in Dec., spending Christmas far from family and normal Christmas activities, but were greatly comforted by your wonderful programming at that time. I especially appreciate the quality of the music you air, the wonderful renditions of the great hymns of the church, discerning choice of contemporary music and Northwestern radio broadcasts. Keep up the good work and please add my name to your list of supporters and send me your newsletter.
TITUSVILLE - The Lord has laid it on my heart to send a donation to your station. I listen every day on my way to work. Thank you so much and God bless this ministry.
PALM BAY - Thank you for the wonderful programs you air daily. Although we are not able to listen to many of them, we do enjoy those we are able to listen to. Enclosed is a small gift which we had pledged. May God continue to richly bless you.
PALM BAY - Just a note to thank you for the calendar. I appreciate you sending me one every year. Enclosed is a gift to help carry on the good work.
LA GRANGE, GA - Enclosed is my pledge to finish out my year. Thank you so much for your ministries over the air waves. While in Fla. WCIF ministered to us everyday. My husband has retired and we are now living in Georgia. We have found a station here that we are enjoying and God is using to bless this area. Thanks again and I will miss answering the phones at the telethon, but God is already doing the work in peoples hearts to make the goal for 1999.
PALM BAY - I thank you so much for your programs. I enjoyed the Christmas tunes. May God bless you all throughout the New Year.
MELBOURNE - Thanks so much for the years of wonderful Christian inspiration and instruction. My car radio can't seem to find any other station except FM 106.3. I'm sure you know what a blessing it is to have in heavy traffic.
PALM BAY- I am compelled to say thank you, I have asked the Lord to bless you for the delightful Christmas program you delivered yesterday. I spent time with our Lord listening to the beautiful hymns and songs which made me feel so thankful and joyful that I had to thank God for radio as a means of communication. I had no human companionship but I was not alone, our Lord was with me and I had such a happy feeling it cannot be described with words. No amount of money can pay for such happiness but please accept my small gift as a token of my appreciation. May God bless you all to continue His work here in this troubled world.
LOVE WORTH FINDING - We prayed specifically for you all today at LWF. Your partnership with us in ministry is greatly appreciated! Melbourne needs to know that Jesus is the great Love Worth Finding! Phil. 4

What's Your Focus in the Time of
Trouble?
by Harold Sala
As SHARATHON approaches we pray you will take some time to consider your part in this coming year of opportunity. The future to most is uncertain but to the believer we know who holds our future, including our finances. If y2k has you wondering what your response should be to anything beyond the end of 1999, remember God has the means to keep you safe, sound and effective in what He wants done. The following article should help you prepare for SHARATHON confidently aware that God will honor your faith in Him.
When difficulties come, on what do you focus? Some look back. They are the ones who try to drive looking in the rear view mirror. Their thoughts are consumed with two questions which, like a broken record, plays over and over again: "What if?" or "If only?" "What if I had not made that investment? What if I had listened to my mom or dad? What if I had just prayed about this and taken my time?"
Can we not learn from our mistakes? Yes. Is there not profit in analyzing what went wrong? Again, affirmative; but looking back becomes a habit, a kind of life excuse that puts a wall of failure between you and the future.
An anonymous person wrote, "I look not back. God knows the fruitless efforts, the wasted hours, the sinning and regret; I leave them all with Him who blots the record. And graciously forgives, and then forgets."
Some focus entirely on the future when difficulties arise. And what's wrong with that? Isn't goal setting important? Yes. Certainly, if you have no thought of where you want to go, you,ll never get there, for sure. But focusing entirely on tomorrow is day- dreaming, or living in a fantasy world divorced from reality. Tomorrow is uncertain, and when it arrives, God is going to be there; so I have to leave many things in His hands, confident that when tomorrow gets here, God will show me what to do.
Some focus on their circumstances, looking around them. They are the ones who, when trouble comes, are looking for an excuse, a scapegoat, someone whom they can blame for their failures. I'm thinking of a woman who once worked with us. When her computer wouldn't work she would assail, "Someone did something with my computer," when, in fact, no one had touched her computer. I heard complaints about her mother, her husband, certainly her church, and the set of circumstances that had dealt her a bad deal in life. "I accept responsibility for this," or "This is my fault" were phrases that never came from her lips. When trouble comes, don't look around you, striving to pin the blame on others or on circumstances. Some things just happen, and the key is not fixing blame but on how you respond and how you get on with your life.
Some look inward when problems come. This is not altogether bad. At times we need to examine our motives and take a look within. But living in a world of introspection, always examing our thoughts and feelings often leaves us wounded and hurting. Paul took a look within and didn't much like what he saw. Read Romans 7 and see if you can relate to his comments that seemingly what he wanted to do , he didn't do and and what he didn't want to do ended up being exactly what he did. If you take a look within, do it and then move on.
All right, you may be saying, if I shouldn't look back, or I shouldn't look to the future, nor look around me or within, what should be my focus? Ah, I'm glad you asked. Here it is When difficulty knocks at your door, look up into the face of Jesus, realizing that God can be your source of strength, your help, your defender, and your deliverer. He will never disappoint you or leave you in the lurch. Looking to Him you will never be disappointed.
Take time to read through the book of Psalms and notice how David and the men who penned these marve- lous expression of faith responded to trouble. They knew that the Lord was a rock, a fortress, a hiding place, a deliverer, a shield, a stronghold, a friend, a companion, and a helper in the time of need.
Mark or underline those words and make perhaps the greatest discovery of your life. God is still the same and He will meet you when trouble comes.
Your focus in the time of difficulty will determine both how you weather the storm and where you go after the storm is over. How much better to learn that God will walk with you through the valley than to wonder if He is strong enough, sufficient enough, caring enough to meet you at the time of your need. Yes, how much better indeed!
