The January 2000 Newsletter
THIS WILL BE OUR TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY!
We have many volunteer needs. Please begin praying with us about SHARATHON.
When the world feels like it is caving in around you and there is nothing you can do to change your circumstances, where do you go to find strength and hope?
In 2 Corinthians 1, Paul tells of being "burdened excessively, beyond
our strength, so that we despaired even of "life" (v. 8). Whatever he was
facing, the thought of impending death was on his mind. Yet his hope did
not rest in his human ability.
The Person he turned to was the only One who could administer peace
to his heart and truth to his mind. Even though he despaired, he did not
give up or give in to fears. It was to Jesus that he ran: "(Christ) on
whom we have set out hope. And He will yet deliver us" (v. 10).
From the world's perspective, there are many places you can go to find comfort. But there is only one place you will find a hand to catch your tears and a heart to listen to your every longing. True peace only comes from God. Nothing is so great that God is not greater still.
Is there an urgency in your heart? Something that threatens your emotional well-being as well as your ability to perform in life? Take it to Jesus. Run to Him. He is your solid, unshakable source of strength in cruel and hurtful times - One who is faithful and One who is true. Many times we view strength in light of power. The strongest man wins the weight lifting contest. The football player who trains the hardest makes the starting team.
Yet for the believer there is an even greater strength to be found. It is not one of might or human willpower, but one that is discovered in humility and submission to God. The world often scoffs at the person who refuses to rise up in human strength and take control of his circumstances. "He is weak," they laugh.
But from God's perspective, there is power in weakness. The apostle Paul wrote: "When I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corin- thians 12:10). When we are frozen in feelings of inadequacy, Jesus becomes our very strength.
Peter told the early church to "humble themselves under the mighty hand of God that Christ might exalt them at the proper time" (I Peter 5:6). When we humble ourselves at the feet of Jesus, He goes to work - strengthening us and building purpose into our lives.
No matter who you are, there will come a point in your life when what you face is greater than your ability to handle it. This is when you need to move beyond yourself and into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Even now He is waiting for you.

All of us know about roads. There are long and short roads, straight and crooked roads, smooth and bumpy roads, and wide and narrow roads. In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus called attention to a wide road and a narrow road. The wide road leads to destruction or hell. On this road, Jesus said, there are many people. The narrow road, He said, leads to heaven and eternal life. There are only a few traveling this road, Jesus said. Is there a choice of which road a person can take? This question is answered in the Bible.
First, the Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Therefore all persons are on the wide road to because all have sinned. Eternal hell awaits all who remain on this road, for the Bible also says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). God has provided a way for us to choose the road to heaven. The Bible says, "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
You do have a choice: the wide road to destruction or the narrow road to heaven. Paul said that we can find the narrow road this way: "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Will you choose the narrow road right now? If so, tell God in prayer that you know you are a sinner, repent of your sin, ask Him to forgive you, and ask Jesus to save you right now. Then make public your confession of faith this Sunday in a church worship service. Share you faith in Jesus with ad Christian friend or pastor. Becoming a Christian is your first step on the lifelong road of spiritual growth and service God desires for you.

PALM BAY - Please accept this donation. We love listening to WCIF and
have been blessed by your many programs over the years. We are moving to
NC in a few week. . . Could you please tell us how to get WCIF off the
internet?
Thank you.
PALM BAY - Not a good year for me but I always remain strong in my faith. Wanted to send something anyway to help you in the good work that you do. Keep that light shinning out there and the voice loud and clear on WCIF radio - the world needs it. Blessings at this holiday season and best to you for 2000.
MELBOURNE BEACH - Thank you so much for the beautiful calendar. We also want to let you know how much we are enjoying the wonderful Christmas music. I have been decorating and wrapping gifts with the music in the background adding so much holiday spirit. We are reminded how truly blessed we are to have such a fine Christian radio station proclaiming the love of Jesus to the Brevard area and beyond. Y2K - to the King!
MELBOURNE - Thank you for the beautiful music you are sending out this season. I like the picture in the last newsletter and the message from each one of you. I wish all of you continued blessings this coming year. I am enclosing the last of my pledge for '99 and looking forward to receiving my calendar.
PALM BAY - Thanks to all of you for your dedicated service to so many people in our immediate and surrounding communities. Your music and Bible teachings continue to be a source of inspiration, strength and blessing. May God richly bless you as you continue in this ministry.
INDIALANTIC - Really sorry I didn't send my check last month, as you know, Christmas is a full month of running here and there. With friends and family coming and going, baking and cards to write, I will just double this months' contribution. I would really miss WCIF if they took it off the air. I've surely enjoyed all the Christmas music this month. Thanks so much for it. Thanks for being there for the ones who truly love God and the true meaning of Christmas.
MELBOURNE - When we moved to this area one year ago, your Christmas broadcasting went a long way in helping me cope with the separation from family and friends. I looked forward to the top quality music again this year, but was terribly disappointed! What happened?
Today, three days after Christmas, I'm finally hearing some 'real' Christmas music from you. I don't dislike contemporary music, per se, but if it isn't an improvement on the old carols, why bother? What of the straying or lost or lonely souls out there looking for some hope. I thought of them constantly last year and prayed for them constantly during your programming. And, maybe worst of all, are we failing to pass on something precious to our children.
MELBOURNE - We were so pleased and surprised that you sent letters of congratulations to the pastors whom we honored in October. We had called in to honor our pastors and you went the extra mile to write to them. Thank you so much.
WEST MELBOURNE - Just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much my husband and I love this station. I cannot really pin point a favorite program as all of them speak to us at different times in our lives. It is always a blessing to us and we wanted to complete our pledge for the year.
MICCO - It is with great joy I listen to your programming. The Lord has blessed me personally and used your ministry to encourage and help people as they grow in the Lord. Thanks for your faithfulness in bringing Jesus Christ to the area.
