The World Health Organization estimates that there is a need of over 18 million wheelchairs around the world. In some of the countries the cost of a wheelchair can equal a year's wages, resulting in the impossibility for people affected by disability to ever receive one. Living in isolation, lacking simple mobility and cut off from life, many of the disabled are also tragically cut off from the local church. As a result, many have never heard the gospel message or experienced the love of Christ. Wheels for the World aims to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the disabled around the world by providing wheelchairs and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Wheels for the World through the year 2002 has distributed over 14,000 wheelchairs to over 50 countries and has trained hundreds of ministry and community leaders, including people with disabilities. As a result many have placed their trust in Christ, are experiencing new life and purpose with their new mobility, and disability ministry is growing all over the world. The restoration of collected wheelchairs takes place in
the U.S. by carefully trained inmates in nine separate correctional facilities.
The wheelchairs are then shipped overseas to meet up with short-term missions
teams. Distribution and evangelism teams custom fit each wheelchair specifically
for each recipient and train him or her in wheelchair use and upkeep. Each
recipient also receives a Bible and the message of God's love from a team
member.
You can drop off wheelchairs, collapsible walkers, metal crutches and canes at the following locations February 1-10 at the appropriate times:: WCIF,
First Baptist Church of Cocoa Beach
Brevard Memorial Funeral Home
Orchid Island Orchids
Jimmie Vickers Inc.

Palm Bay - Your station is one of the focal points in my life. Love and God's blessings to all. Palm Bay - Thank you so much for all the great programs. It's the only radio station I listen to and has blessed me many times over. Cape Canaveral - I called your station two weeks ago to find out the name of a tape that we had just heard on your morning time. I promised the announcer I would send a check if he could tell us what the hymn was and he replied, "this sounds like name that tune." So here is a check to complete the deal! We love your station and your music selection is great. Palm Bay - Sorry for any inconvenience I might have caused, I was unable to keep up with my commitment due to some unexplained problems. However, God has been so good as always, I am now able to do so. Enclosed is half of what I owe to reach up to date, and I promise by the help and grace of God I will reach up to date before the end of the year. Continue the good work. God's mercies never fail. Have a blessed day. Titusville -Please accept our contribution for the good work in radio. G-O-O-D without GOD in it becomes "O". St. Cloud - Please accept my apology for taking so long to make good on my offering for your ministry. May God bless your endeavors. Grace and Peace in Christ. Titusville - Many blessings and prayers to each of you. . . We love you all. Thank you for all your long hours on the radio reaching many people for our loved Jesus Christ. Melbourne - Thanks to all of you for your dedication to sharing the gospel to the listening audience. I enjoy your programs but especially enjoy weekday mornings. Barefoot Bay - May God bless you all for the wonderful ministry you have. Your programs have touched me tremendously. My husband finally realized what life is all about through his last nine months of life. He died 9-20-03 from pancreatic cancer and renewed his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you all again. Palm Bay - God Bless and keep you all. This is just a little token to say how much I enjoy listening to your program, my radio never turns off from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sometimes my grandchildren come over and change my radio station but their father tells them to change it back. It lets me stay in tune with God. When I am sad, it makes me glad. Sebastian - May God bless all you wonderful people at WCIF. My husband and I listen to your station everyday, in our home and in the car. We got so much pleasure and direction from all the different programs and music. They help to keep us focused on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and guide us all in our daily lives. |
