Congratulations to Scott Terry who starts his fourth year as WCIF announcer in June.

It's just about moving day. It's exciting to see the progress on the new facilities. Each day our studios and offices take on a different look. It wasn't that long ago that the studios were nothing more than dark block walls. |
It was difficult to visualize what had been planned. At that point you had to take measurements to see if everything was according to plan. Now the walls are painted, the carpet is in and the lighting makes the place look much like what we had expected. In fact it is more than we could imagine because everything is so fresh and new.
This is an unusual experience and we are trying to keep the pressures from taking away from the enjoyment and anticipation we all feel. Everyone who has volunteered to take responsibility for the move is starting to feel squeezed. So much to do, so little time. It's good to see that we are all working together and trying to accommodate each other. We, the church and station's staff, are expecting a long and prosperous ministry together and we will be friends and family all the way.
It's uncommon for a church to have a radio ministry. This is probably the first and will be the only time the workers have ever built a church with radio studios. We are very much aware of those who are doing the contract work and keep them in mind as we pray.
One of the striking things is the number of lay people who have volunteered their services throughout the church and those who are waiting to see that the actual move is not overpowering. WCIF had been blessed with the best engineer and some great technically minded volunteers. We are going to take advantage of all their talents as we wire the new studios and move equipment from one place to the other. We were surprised to learn that our council chairman is a carpenter on the side so he is constructing the furniture for our studios and cabinets for our offices.
One major hurdle which is a little behind schedule is the concrete pad which will hold a tower for the antenna that connects us to our transmitter and the support for our satellite program receiver dish. Both are required in order to be on the air.
Pray for these projects to be completed and also pray that as we move
from offices and studios we have been in for twenty years, we will know
what should go and what should be left out. We have books and paperwork,
music and computers, old equipment stored for possible use, and essential
equipment and office supplies that we know will have to make the move.
We have a job ahead of us but we are excited. Most of all as you pray remember
the staff and volunteers. Martha has a lot on her plate in seeing that
the offices get set up and the air shifts are all filled. Billie our secretary
still has to keep up with our records as she helps box up for the move.
Our
announcers will have more than their air shifts to cover as the move
date draws near. We are each helping one another as much as possible. I
have even been bringing work clothes in case something comes up at the
"property". Pray for me as I attempt to coordinate and anticipate the scheduling
of what still needs to happen to make the move successful.
When the move actually occurs we will experience some down time. We
will be
off the air for a minimum time while we move our microwave dish and
its related equipment. We may experience some time without news service
since we will have to move a 12-foot satellite dish from a roof to a 10-foot
pole three miles away. We
hope you will be patient with us and pray for us persistently. In the
near future we will have an open house so you can come and help us dedicate
our new facilities. I say it often but it is so true we couldn't have come
to this point without you and your generous concern. As we move into this
new facility, we are debt-free, having paid for our new place before it
was built. To God be the glory!

WCIF has joined with the NRB in its ministry outreach to help the poorest of the poor in Riverton, Jamaica through the ministry of Food for the Poor. By giving a poor family a simple one room home costing $2000.00, we provide them with a new start in life. They gain a sense of dignity and hope. A completed house often brings tears of joy and heartfelt prayers of thanksgiving to our Lord., explains Ferdinand Manfood, of Food for the Poor.

PALM BAY - I praise and thank God for you all. I do enjoy the programs and music. I had some illness last week but prayers from relatives and your programming helped me to settle back to normal. God bless you all with the will and ability to carry on.
VERO BEACH - Keep blessing us in Vero with your wonderful programs.
MELBOURNE - This is just a note to let you know how much of a blessing WCIF is to me. I appreciate all of the many ministries that you broadcast throughout the day such as Christian Financial Concepts, Urban Alternative, and Focus on the Family. I was not able to make a pledge during Sharathon this year, however I wanted to send financial support from my family.
COCOA - Please accept my gift to help you with your operation costs of WCIF.
INDIALANTIC - I was in Canada during your Sharathon this year. I trust it went well. The goals you mentioned in your Sharathon letter are most exciting! I pray God's blessing upon your ministry through WCIF. It's my favorite radio station, I miss it when I am away.
MICCO - As a WCIF listener I am so thankful for your programming. What a joy and privilege to be able to turn on Christ-centered radio any time of the day or night. My walk with the Lord is strengthened as I listen. Here is the support check for the year. Thanks again, we serve a risen Savior.
BOSCOBEL, WI - I want to thank you for the Max Lucado book. It's lovely. Would appreciate prayers as I travel back to Wiscon- sin. I hope you all have a wonderful summer.
MELBOURNE - Thank you so much for the lovely inspiring book. I will treasure this and use it daily at my Bible reading time. My only regret is that I can't spend more time listening to the lovely music and spiritual blessings on WCIF. We are blessed to have such a truly Christian radio station in our own town.

WCIF says thanks to the many volunteers who help make the ministry possible. One group is those who help with the mailing of the newsletter. It takes about 30 volunteers to make the mail out managable . During the summer months this group is particu-larly in need of help. If you'd like to join them for a "newsletter party" call the station and we'll call you when we're mailing the next newsletter. Call 725-9243 or email us.
Please feel free to use the toll free number if you live outside the local calling area. If you live in the local calling area (including Cocoa, Cape Canaveral, Merritt Island and Beaches) please use the regular number to contact WCIF. We're glad to hear from each of you!
