The March 1999 Newsletter
![]() |
Well here it is, time to take stock of what God has allowed us to do and where He wants us to go in the coming year. SHARATHON is upon us and preparations have been made to make this one of the most memorable three day events we have had. |
It hardly seems possible that we will begin our twentieth year on Wednesday, March 10. In these years significant things have happened each day as people have made decisions, been comforted, inspired and instructed by the programming. Remember the steady planting of the Word has helped strengthen members of the community.
As I look back I marvel at how faithfully God has carried our projects and problems to successful ends. In this last year we have seen God give us the expanded coverage we had prayed and planned for since the beginning. He did it in such an overwhelming way that there is no doubt these were His accomplishments.
Well now it's time to stop a minute, reflect on what He has done and give Him thanks. Then we will take time to look to the near future as we ask you to help us prepare for another twelve months. Your part is crucial. The three day campaign is essential to the 362 which will follow! These few days are like the rudder on a ship, though very small in terms of time, they will set the course for the year. If it were up to you where would we go? Where will we be in the next century?
Could I suggest you plan to spend as much time with us as you can on the 8th, 9th and 10th? As you listen, pray and participate you,ll find that this is an important part of what Christian radio is. We've had people tell us how much it meant to them to see God rally His people for this worthy cause. I,m sure you will feel the sense of unity among believers and cheer as we reach each plateau.
Pray that God will inspire each person who speaks to you during this time. Their encouragement will help the time go quickly but it is taxing to be on the air for long stretches.
Thank God for so many who will volunteer to see that we succeed. By the time we are through we expect there will be over one hundred who will follow their pledges with time in praying, answering phones, keeping pledges straight and seeing that everyone is as comfortable as possible while they are working.
Well, now it's time to put it all in the Lord's hands again. We've been asking Him for the victory. Will you contact us after you have talked to the Lord about your part?
Here are some considerations as you think of what you can do to help: some will give based on their income and their ability; others will go beyond sight feeling the Lord's prompting to do so; some will give sacrificially; some will share because of the value to their lives; some will help seeing the value to others. All of these are valid considerations. We want you to do what the Lord gives you the ability to do and for your reasons.
For the first time in three years we have adjusted the day sponsor cost by a total of $2.00 per month. We waited as long as we could before making this decision.
May God bless us all as we HELP OTHERS FIND THE WAY into the next century.

I am certain that God will continue to assist and bless us on our journey to glorify His name.
COCOA - I would like to say a joyful thank you for this radio station. The first time I heard the radio was during Christmas time quite a few years ago. I was starting to go through my divorce, and I was seeking, and I found the Lord. I have been faithfully listening to the radio ever since. I am thankful for the increase in power as I can listen as I go back and forth to work, and even have my alarm clock set to this station. I can never give justice to describing how different programs have helped me in my growth in the Lord. I do pray for this station, and may the station keep its focus on the Lord. Again I say thank you, and give the Lord the glory for directing me to listen to this station and for the faithfulness of all the ones working there.
PALM BAY - WCIF is such a blessing in my life. I could not go through a day without it. Please accept my pledge for 1998. . . Please send a pledge card for 1999.

TEN WORDS CAN CHANGE A LIFE
by Cliff Lethbridge
It has been almost ten years since my voice was first heard on WCIF. Over the course of the last decade I have been consistently amazed at the power of WCIF to impact - and in some cases change - the lives of our listeners.
During the Christmas season, the WCIF announcers typically say, "WCIF, where Christ is at the center of the Christmas Season" to let our listeners know that it is our goal to keep "Christ First" in a time of the year that can be very distracting with other things.
Well, let me tell you, when you say "Where Christ is at the center of the Christmas Season" enough times, it becomes like second nature and often more of a habit than a message. At least it used to seem that way to me.
That is until I got a phone call from one of our listeners one Christmas season. I do not even know this man's name, but his testimony has changed the way I view Christian radio and especially my role in it. This man was riding in the car with his mother, who did not know the Lord. As they listened to WCIF on the car radio, they heard me say, "Where Christ is at the center of the Christmas season" like I had said maybe a hundred times before. But this time, God used those ten simple words in a powerful way. The man's mother asked him what I meant when I said Christ was at the center of the Christmas season. A miracle followed when the man was able to share the clear gospel message with his mother, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour.
Wow! I still get goosebumps. Now understand I was not preaching or teaching and I gave no invitations. I simply said something which had become "routine" to me. And look what happened as God allowed me to open a door in someone's life without even knowing it.
This, friends, is the true power of Christian radio. I am convinced that God uses every minute of every broadcast day to work mightily in the lives of His people. As you prayerfully consider your participation during Sharathon, please remember - ten words can change a life!

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3
