NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - MAY
3 - One Nation Under God
My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty,
Just how much do we take our freedom, our blessing of being in America for granted. I know I do - As I've traveled outside the bounds of the U.S. I know the comfort of returning home - to the land of the free. Last year at the National Day of Prayer I experienced a realistic reminder of the need for gratitude for freedoms we are granted in the United States of America. Our group was small, but that's not important in God's sight. We gathered to quietly pray at the flag pole of our city hall in observance of the National Day of Prayer. Before the twenty minutes were passed (12:20 to 12:40) we were challenged, and I was told I could not hand out the National Day of Prayer brochures that WCIF always makes available. I was stunned. After we prayed, as we spent a few minutes in conversation, we were told we needed to move along. I'm grateful it happened - my eyes were opened and I was reminded of the need to be aware of our freedoms and exercise our rights. I plan to return to my city hall for the National Day of Prayer and hopefully there will be others - not to be disturbing, but to pray in gentleness. In quietness and confidence will be my strength. (Is. 30:15) Martha Root You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, and Your right hand upholds me; and Your gentleness makes me great (Psalm 18:35) National Day of Prayer brochures are available for anyone who desires to pray - where ever you may be - just call the station 725-9243 and we'll be glad to provide them to you. PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE - During your recent Pledge Drive, one of the segments revolved around filling the alphabet with God's Blessings. God has blessed me and my family so abundantly, I could not limit myself to just one letter. With divine guidance, I penned the following: (starting with the letter B) Brothers in Christ who Daily Exercise Faith, Grace, and Hope. My Iniquities are forgiven by Jesus, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. His Mercy is Neverending. He Overcomes my Persecutors, His Quiet Rest offers Security during Trials. His Undeniable Victory Will eXist forever. You can have the Lord's Zeal too, Ask me how. Thank you all for the continued blessings WCIF pours out across the airwaves. COCOA - Wish I could do more. I listen to WCIF all the time. I especially enjoy Chuck Swindoll and the beautiful music played throughout the day. May God bless you. Enlarge your territory. Keep His Hand on you and keep you from evil. PALM BAY - I was off the continent during the share-a-thon, so I'm catching up on what I missed. Please find enclosed our gift for this year.
