    PRETTY EXCITING!
Thank you for setting aside spots for Need Him! It's working. Over 150 times a day, somebody calls and speaks to a Need Him volunteer. For the month of January, there was an average of 10 individuals who called daily to make a decision for Christ. Pretty exciting!

    FROM THE MANAGER
    Lee Martinez
Lee Martinez Twenty-two years ago WCIF was established. On March 10th we will begin our twenty-third year of all Christian broadcasting. There have been many changes in those years.

Most of the faces have changed. The equipment has been upgraded as the need arose and the funds were available. Personnel were added as the budget would allow. Programming was adjusted based on the felt needs of our community and the determined purpose of the station.

From the beginning WCIF has been a faith ministry. We determined early that God would use His people to maintain the work. This was not an easy decision since there are more lucrative ways to operate and some that are profitable by world standards. Many Christian stations have chosen those methods and that's all right for them.

One of our concerns was that you be able to hear the Word of God and uplifting music in an uninterrupted manner. Your connection with the Word should be consistent without having to put on the brakes for a minute or two at the most inopportune time.

Another benefit of being a faith ministry is that God can make us listen if we get ahead of or fall behind His plan. It's like having a flow of living water. If the flow slows down we check to see if the source is still open to us. We had such a check last year after September 11th. We found that people had rerouted their charitable giving to meet another need. I'm not sure that is a defensible principle but it now looks like things are
starting to get back to normal. We feel that WCIF has been raised up for a time like this. Even during the crisis of last year we heard from many seeking comfort and stability from the Word of God. We've always been glad God called us to this area and this work.

As we approach our twenty-third year we are excited and ask you to feel the excitement too. Through WCIF, you have the opportunity to reach this dear community with the precious Word in a form people will understand and appreciate. Pray with us as we continue to bring the comforting Word of God to our area. As you pray, reaffirm your willingness to take part in holding up the Word of God through WCIF. We know God can provide an abundance if His people are willing.

    HOPE FOR THE HEART UPDATE

In October Hope for the Heart host June Hunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. The cancerous tumors were removed in two surgeries and chemotherapy has begun and will be followed with radiation. June shares her thoughts:

My recent diagnosis of breast cancer has been a teachable time for me. Up to this point in my treatment and recovery, the two greatest gifts from God have been faithful friends and the absence of fear. I have received unimaginable help from supportive friends.

I have also learned this is not the time to be too independent. A caring, reciprocal friendship involves not only giving, but also receiving, and I,m learning to receive. We all need friends, and the gift of friendship is just one of the many ways God extends His love toward us. And just as I have valued my friends nearby to meet my needs, I have valued your friendship and your support of our ministry. What a blessing you are!

    Lovingly,

    June
