As you may be aware, WCIF is partnering with Food for the Poor and the National Religious Broadcasters to help build homes for the poorest of the poor in Jamaica.
    Riverton City, Jamaica

Ten percent of all donations given to WCIF this year will be dedicated to this effort. WCIF General Manager Lee Martinez was recently able to visit the Riverton City section of Jamaica where the houses are being constructed for about $2,000 each. He reported, "I have never seen such poverty and terrible living conditions. We have so much to be thankful for in the United States."

In the Riverton City area Lee was able to survey first hand, people are living in a garbage dump landfill, using whatever means available to find shelter. He explained, "A $2,000 home might not seem like much, but compared to thrown together rusty metal that many of these people use for a home, it is a mansion!" Indeed, the Food for the Poor effort to build homes is literally delivering generations to come out of poverty and horrendous living conditions. Lee was told that one young person, previously living in squalor, was able to study to the point of earning a college degree after being able to live in a decent home. As we share in the great abundance God has blessed each of us with here at home, let's not forget those in need this Thanksgiving season. Please continue to pray as you partner with us to provide decent housing for the poorest of the poor in Jamaica.

CARE-A-THON for SOUTH BREVARD HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RAISES $42,500 FOR HOME!

    Pastor Bill Anderson takes pledges
The Care-A-Thon held October 17 raised enough money to build the 60th house to be built by South Brevard Habitat for Humanity. The house is scheduled to under go construction later this month at 1789 Steele Street with Habitat partner family Naida Spivey. The funds provided to build this house with Naida will continue to help build other homes in the future. As Naida makes her monthly mortgage payment, the principle portion of her payment will be recycled into the South Brevard Habitat for Humanity ministry.
Brad - Habitat Director of Operations
I was extremely humbled by God's grace during the Care-A-Thon. It was a joy to experience His goodness and faithfulness, and to see the outpouring of support by the listeners of WCIF. To each and everyone who participated, thank you from all of us at South Brevard Habitat for Humanity! Kim Gabriel, President
I'm excited because God has blessed me with the opportunity to own my own home and raise my children in a stable envirornment and after my home is finished I will continue to volunteer for Habitat. Naida Spivey (pictured with Dad - Pastor Myrue Spivey
