  • Congratulations to Billie Norczyk who completed three years of service as WCIF Secretary in August.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
    Hebrews 4:12, 13

    FROM THE MANAGER
    Lee Martinez
Lee Martinez In just a few weeks WCIF and First Baptist, Melbourne in cooperation with other local churches will conduct the second annual CARE-A-THON to benefit South Brevard Habitat For Humanity. On Thursday September 27th, we will conduct a phone-in campaign from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. to raise the funds needed to provide low cost housing to at least one and possibly two families.

Last year through the generosity of our audience a mother and three children were able to afford their own home. This was not a giveaway but a means for Habitat to provide a low cost loan to someone who needed a hand up. You've probably heard a great deal about Habitat since there are many respected leaders and other popular figures who have chosen this way of doing some good in their communities.

We have had an active local Habitat chapter for a long time but our first real contact came when we began a search for means by which we could impact our community. Who would be better suited to respond to authentic community needs than God's people? But where were we going to find a cause to bring before you that was responding to needs and being good stewards? We wanted someone who was helping people feel good about attaining life goals and developing respect for themselves and their community. Where would we find a well planned system with very little need for oversight, because we didn't want to redirect our own efforts. We naturally focused on Habitat For Humanity and were impressed by their effectiveness in finding and qualifying needy but neglected candidates. Their clients have more need than resources but as far as potential, a little boost could put them on their feet and moving in a promising direction.

Most of us are reading this from the safety and security of our own home. The world can be locked out and tomorrow's challenges are at least manageable. There is a sizable segment of our community that can only hope that someday that will be true for them. It's a good feeling, hope and we can pass it on. It's a foundation of our Christian faith and it has to start somewhere. If a person can look up and see light in their lives, they can be encouraged to seek the "Light of the world" our Lord Jesus. This is especially true if it's obvious God's people were those who made their upward journey possible.

With that in mind this year's campaign has been moved up to coincide with an all- church effort called "Building On Faith". (Continued on back) Through the church leadership each congregation will be contacted by Habitat to join with other churches and denominations to provide funding and other help to build homes in our area. By the time we set aside this day for fundraising we are hoping everyone will have decided to take part and will in fact call in to represent their church or denomination with a generous gift. WCIF can make its facilities available but success for the families involved can only come as each person determines to take part. It's a great principle, working together to accomplish what would be too much for us to do on our own!

    SUMMER SLUMP TAKES ITS TOLL

Every year faith ministries deal with the ups and downs of unpredictable summer contributions. We learn to tighten our belts and wait for better days, like a farmer waiting for rain.

It's always been our policy to spread a table before you, such as quality music and challenging as well as uplifting messages. A kind of buffet if you will that lasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And yes, it's an all you can eat, dig in and enjoy commitment with prime speakers and choice messages. What is sometimes hard to grasp is how we can continue to do this so consistently.

Sometimes, especially in the summer and early fall, our expenses overrun our contributions. Sometimes, especially in the summer and early fall, we wonder if all the Christian principles are being digested, including the giving and receiving of blessings. There will never be a check to pay here. Faith means we trust God (and His people). God will always do the right thing. So will His people if they listen to Him. What may be invisible to us is clear to the Lord. If it's His intention that we scrape through certain seasons of the year that's okay but we just thought we should mention what we see might be an inconsistency. We always want for everyone the welcome sign that says, "Come and Dine".

    Letters

Titusville - We don't want to miss sending our gift for your blessed radio station. We love hearing Focus on the Family, Insight For Living and In Touch and many more. We both are blessed each day and it helps us live our lives more loving for our Lord Jesus. We send love to all of you for your Godly Spirits and for all the work you do for God's people, all for the Glory of God.

MELBOURNE - Thank you so much for your recent letter. You may be sure of our continued support & prayers. We are retired now and have to gear back, but WCIF was not one of the things to even consider dropping. When I first listened to you, my husband was Associate Pastor at St. Timothy and I had an active Motion Choir Ministry. Your music was often God's way of telling me what I should offer to the congregation. We are grateful, even though health has slowed both of us down and we continue to listen and draw comfort and inspiration from your music and ministries. May the Lord continue to bless you as you bless others.

E-MAIL - I have been listening to your station for eight years. The Lord got my attention with Charles Stanley. I've been saved and have been listening ever since. . . The Lord has dealt with me and has put me on a great road. Like Nehemiah, He put on my heart the people of my hometown. Over the years, by telephone and brief visits, the Lord has shown me the tremendous need. I have seen the impact that your radio station has made, and continues to make on people. My salvation is a testimony of your wonderful obedience. I could never repay all of you for your dynamite work. Where I come from there is a tremendous need for a radio station like WCIF. Back to my subject, could you use any volunteers at the station? I am totally "green" when it comes to the radio business. But I would love to observe the workings of such a powerful organization. . . Keep up the good fight.

Indian Harbor Beach - Thanks for being here. I spend a good part of each day and night with you. Your radio station means so much to me.

Barefoot Bay - You're always there no matter how early I get up or how late I sit up. Just like our Heavenly Father. Thank you for your service to Him and to my home. In Christ we send this gift.

Palm Bay - Thank God my finances are looking good. Thank God for "Providing". God Bless WCIF. What would I do without it?

Titusville - Thank you WCIF for sending your newsletter and a payment envelope to us this soon. We knew something was wrong when we didn't hear from you. Thank you for your love faithfulness as servants for our Lord Jesus Christ. We are so blessed that God has honored us with Christian radio stations and being able to read the Bible and be free to go to church. We send love, prayers and that many doors will open, that Christian radio will reach all people for our Lord Father. Thank you for all you do, for God and so many people. You are gifts from our Lord. Bless You.
