From the Manager
Lee J. Martinez

Like you I want things done as quickly as possible so when the ad said next day service and the price was reasonable I decided to take advantage of this quick service.  I filled out the forms and had my numbered receipt when the clerk reminded me that I should come back in two days after 3pm.  Now I've taken part in discussions about how many actual hours there had been from Jesus death on the cross until He was resurrected.  I know we could be talking about the start of a day in Jewish terms or Gentile terms (midnight).  This wasn't one of those discussions so how could the next day be two days and three hours away?
To understand I had to think in terms of the person who was helping me.  It was simple; it was now after 12:00pm.  I must have had that look on my face because she explained that anything left after noon would not be picked up until the next day at noon.  I was too late to have this day count.   If you've rushed to get to your bank before 2 pm you know the feeling.  The business day for customers ends at that time. No use pleading or bargaining.  The deadline has been determined and it won't be adjusted.I hate to be late so I usually have a reliable watch. It gets set once a week just to be sure.  At the station we make adjustments at least once a day.  That way when we start programs or give time checks you can be sure we're on the same standard you are.  We also rely on the new day starting at midnight and running 24 hours.

Knowing where you are in terms of time is important.  You can make your day count for as much as you want.   It is when you are unaware that your watch has stopped or a time frame has been moved that you feel the  pressure.  Time went on and you missed it.

There is a song that reminds us of the Bible teaching about one aspect of time.  Time will end and for those who were not aware of its importance it will be too late.  "When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more . ."   It's a song of victory sung by those who have settled their destiny forever.  Their right choice has been confirmed.  But just as there is a right choice there is a wrong one and some will be too late and time will end.  Their lives will not have counted for what had been intended, seeing and choosing Christ.  A full measure of time, time enough to make the right choices had been given and still they did not prepare for eternity.   And it's too late.

We are concerned that everyone we can influence in any way knows about God's love for them.  Broadcasting gives us good means of presenting the
Gospel and encouraging and reminding our listeners to share what they know.  One thing of key importance is that as you listen you realize for your own benefit and for those you might persuade, time could end for them as the Lord calls or the trumpet sounds.  My prayer is always that my friends and family be given one more opportunity.  Maybe we should also pray that we be given at least one more opportunity to tell them.  The time could be short and we are probably near the end of the day when it starts getting darker and work ceases and it's close to being too late.

Congratulations to BILLIE NORCZYK  who completed four years as WCIF  Secretary in August!

Dr Robert Featherstone, host on the two-minute daily  radio program, THINK ABOUT IT, died Mon-day, August 26 of a massive heart attack. He was attending the "Celebrate Jesus Crusade" in Asheville, NC.  Bob began his radio commentary on a single radio station in Rochester, Minnesota in 1964 and eventually it became syndicated to over 200 stations nationwide, including WCIF.  He retired the program this past year after  more than 37 years.

LETTERS FROM OUR LISTNERS

COCOA BEACH  -  I am praising God for you this night; and am grateful truly
beyond fitting words that "Songs in the Night" was aired tonight.  The Lord has and continues to use this broadcast in many, extraordinary ways to confirm His specific word (timely), to build up and encourage me; and to minister directly as a result of this into the lives of others; and even musically in the church to the body of Christ.  Your steadfastness and love of Christ is duly noted.  May the Lord Bless and Keep you in all your endeavors.

PALM BAY - I thank you all for keeping me steady in the word of God.  I am not very healthy but I try not to complain but keep reading the word.

PALM BAY  - This letter is for the purpose of thanking you for bringing such good ways of teaching others to have a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus!  All the ministries and programs that you offer thru WCIF radio, have been a tremendous basketful of blessings for me. . .    God has been speaking to me through your ministries on the station  I have truly learned the meanings of a true relationship with God.  I am still learning and my prayers are more genuine as I give God more and more control over my life and my all.  Thank you for making all this possible through radio, and may God bless you! .

SATELLITE BEACH  - What a comfort your station was for me on the day my
grandson was in surgery in June and again a week later as he returned for emergency surgery.  Also thank you for the beautiful music and programs on our special sponsored day.

PALM BAY - Enclosed is my telethon gift for the year.  Thank you very much
for your beautiful program every day.  My soul is really blessed.  I stay up at night to listen to Sounds of Majesty.  To be honest the radio is never turned off, only if I am going out.  Please put me on your prayer list.  I have very bad veins in my legs, and rheumatic pain in my knees.  God bless and keep you all.  Please keep up the good work.  God's peace and love.

MELBOURNE BEACH -
Enclosed you will find the last installment for my donation . . . I have know so well that the God of my under- standing, is only loving and forgiving and my faith has grown leaps and bounds the more I trust in Him for every- thing!  I cherish your programs for I have learned so much more about the Bible's teachings than I would have been able to otherwise.  My mother & I talked about them when she'd visit.  I know heaven was a happier place the moment she arrived! . . . I am so grateful for the resources God has provided me in order to offer this to you but to honor a truly Godly soul.

PALM BAY  - Concerning your Saturday morning program "Ranger Bill".  We
hear this show is being taken off the air.  I have been listening to this show for several years.  It's my favorite!! I am 17 years old and I am blind.  I lost my sight at the age of 8 years old due to a Brain tumor.  I went three months of chemo-therapy and radiation.  I am still blind but cured of cancer.  Praise God!!  I'm asking if at all possible, please do not take "Ranger Bill" off your radio station!!  God bless.  (written by my Mom)

MELBOURNE -  I so enjoy listening to your channel.  I have a small radio on
my kitchen table.  Your music and programs are a source of strength and encouragement.  I can always count on you!  Encl. is my August pledge.  Keep up the good work!

INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH  - How wonderful it is to have such a nice group of Friends, like you people at W.C.I.F.  Every morning about 6:30 A.M., I'm turning on my radio, it really makes my day, hearing all the familiar voices, and nice music.

MELBOURNE  - Many thanks for your station - I sleep with it on and it comforts me when I go to Orlando.

SOUTH BREVARD HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CARE-A-THON
BUILDING ON FAITH
An opportunity to raise the funds to build two additional Habitat homes
Thursday, September 19
7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
WE LIVE BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT  2 Cor. 5:7

For the third consecutive year WCIF will partner with the local Christian community to help provide families with affordable housing.  Each year as part of campaign to get churches to work together Habitat For Humanity asks for pledges so they can continue their ministry to less fortunate families.   Some churches and businesses take the bigger challenge and pledge an entire house from amongst their members and employees.  This campaign is designed to allow every church no matter what size to join others and accomplish the same goal. We would like our listeners to be involved again this year as we take out twelve hours from our regular programs and register pledges for Habitat.   This will occur Thursday September 19 from 7am to 7pm.  We would like to ask you to please pray for this event.   The goal this year is for the churches to provide two families with a home.   I know this could be done quickly as each person gets involved on a level they feel the Lord is telling them to do.
Those who have been selected to receive these houses will be here.  We want
you to get to know them.  There will also be past candidates on hand to tell you how their families have been changed as a result of the boost others have given them.  We'll also have a few surprise guests that will encourage you.  I hope you will plan to be part of this show of unity among the churches.
